A heating control mode for the hybrid passive thermosiphon beam

As a novel type of air conditioning terminal, the hybrid passive thermosiphon beam (HPTB) can form the thermosiphon effect under refrigeration operation, which benefits both body comfort and energy saving. However, in temperate regions, winter heating is also crucial. There is a lack of research on the heating mode with its control for the HPTB. Therefore, this study investigated the heating mode of HPTB and introduced a heating control model. Based on the temperature control principle of HPTB, the heat transfer function of the controlled room was established. A fuzzy PI control method was developed with the control parameters estimated. The experimental platform with a multi-area room temperature control system was set up for the verification. The proposed control method was proven that it can reasonably distribute the flow of cold and hot medium of HPTB in each room. In heating mode, this control method can help the HPTB to develop stable and unified indoor temperature environment. This study provides a basis for the seasonal temperature control and application by HPTB in temperate regions, which further promotes the popularization of the thermosiphon beam air conditioning terminals.
