Analysis of land and biological resources within the framework of ethnological examination of projects
The article discusses the analysis of land and biological resources as a part of the ethnological examination of projects for exploration and extraction of minerals in the Arctic zone of the country. By example of the industrial development project in the Arctic zone of Yakutia, the authors analyze the impact of this project on land resources and territories of traditional nature management of the indigenous North peoples. The authors also demonstrate that such research can be used to carry out ecological-landscape land management, evaluate the condition of reindeer pastures, and develop measures to regulate land use in the Arctic territories, as well as implement the Arctic Hectare program.
