Generation of an 86-fs and a 10.2-uJ pulse from an all-fiber integrated GMN system with spectral shaping
In this Letter, we demonstrate a high-energy, all-fiber laser system capable of generating sub-100-fs pulses. Initially, pulses from an oscillator undergo pre-compression via a chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG) and are then spectrally broadened through gain-managed nonlinear (GMN) amplification. Subsequently, the amplified pulses are injected into an unpumped gain fiber for spectral shaping, effectively mitigating gain narrowing during subsequent amplification. In the main amplifier, we achieve a laser output with a power of 7.3 W and a single-pulse energy exceeding 10.2 μJ, with a compressed pulse width of 86 fs, and a peak power of 40 MW after compression. This represents a substantial enhancement in pulse energy compared to previously reported GMN amplification systems, offering considerable potential for applications in laser precision processing and advanced scientific research.
