Competência em Informação da Pessoa Idosa

Population aging is a global reality and presents itself as a challenge that demands attention to the well-being and inclusion of older people in contemporary society. In this context, information literacy becomes a fundamental skill for older adults to face the challenges of the modern world. The central issue addressed in this study lies in the scarcity of specific research on information literacy aimed at this segment of the population. The objective of this article is to systematically analyze the contributions of the available literature on the information literacy of older people, using the BRAPCI and Web of Science databases as search sources. This is a bibliographic and exploratory research with a qualitative and quantitative approach, employing a systematic literature review and applying the principles of content analysis. The research identified 11 relevant articles addressing the topic, specifically in the field of Information Science. The analysis revealed that information literacy among older people is an emerging topic but remains under-researched. The study also highlights the need to expand research beyond the current scope. A more in-depth investigation is recommended to explore the continuous learning of older adults, their critical reflection skills, and their active role in contemporary society. This study contributes to the growth of research, aiming to promote active and well-informed aging.
