Analysis of dynamic response in a saturated porous medium with gravity under two-temperature thermoelastic heat conduction model without energy dissipation
The current manuscript is devoted to scrutinize the impacts of gravitational field and two-temperature on the deformation caused by a thermal load in a generalized thermoelastic saturated porous half-space. The problem has been modeled by adopting the GN-II theory of generalized thermoelasticity. The governing equations are handled with an analytical numerical technique called normal mode analysis. Expressions for displacement components, stresses, temperatures and pore pressure in the physical domain are obtained. Numerical results are obtained and displayed graphically with the help of MATLAB software. Comparison of the physical quantities are shown in figures to study the effects of porosity, gravity, two-temperature and time. Some special cases of interest have also been deduced from the present study. Although, studies in the context of generalized two-temperature thermoelasticity do exist and limited research work on saturated porothermoelastic medium is available in the existing domain. Consequently, the systematic framework of two-temperature thermoelasticity with poroelastic structure and gravity is at present incomplete. The motivation behind this investigation is to address these deficiencies and that the results obtained are advantageous to researchers involved in engineering, material science, geophysics and rock mechanics. 2010 MSC : 74A15, 80A20.
