A Study on the Direction of Planning Tourism Products Using Local World Cultural Heritage

Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the possibility of planning tourism products and contents using the Gaya tumuli, which are registered as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites.Design, data, and methodology - In order to achieve the research objectives, this study aims to present the value of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the characteristics of Gaya tumuli, and the direction of tourism product and content planning based on existing prior research, literature related to cultural heritage, and historical data related to the history of the ancient kingdom of Gaya.Result - The Gaya tumuli can increase the possibility of planning diverse content that allows local residents and tourists to have specific and direct experiences and empathy by linking it with distinctive regional values, regional identity, and local festivals.Conclusion - The Gaya tumuli, which are recovering the lost link of history, have a historical influence on modern Japan. Therefore, festival content based on the history between the two countries will provide a new relationship of historical recovery, reconciliation, and cooperation.
