Unraveling Blockchain Adoption in Healthcare: A Fuzzy Bwm-Dematel Approach to Factor Analysis
Blockchain technology has emerged as a potential revolutionizer in healthcare, promising enhanced patient care and efficient medical information management. However, its adoption faces complex challenges across technological, organizational, legal, and financial domains. The need to navigate this complex adoption landscape necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing blockchain integration in healthcare.Existing technology adoption models often oversimplify the intricacies of adopting complex technologies like blockchain in healthcare. There is a critical need for a quantitatively rigorous model to analyze the influencing factors on blockchain integration. This study employs an integrated approach combining fuzzy Best-Worst Method (BWM) and fuzzy Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL).Primary data was collected through a comprehensive survey of fifteen domain experts who provided pairwise comparisons for BWM weights calculation and influence ratings for DEMATEL analysis using structured linguistic scales. The study revealed that user intention (weight: 0.206) and legal frameworks (weight: 0.201) are of paramount importance, with financial readiness also crucial for blockchain adoption.Finance emerged as the most influential factor with a net cause value of 3.765457, significantly impacting technological, organizational, and user adoption dimensions. The findings emphasize the need for a holistic strategy prioritizing user engagement, legal compliance, and financial viability to facilitate successful blockchain implementation in healthcare.
