Development and intensification of agricultural land use: accounting, budgeting and optimization
In conditions of shortage of quality lands, modern development of agriculture, plant growing and livestock farming sectors becomes directly dependent on productivity of agricultural lands. Results of land resource use provide both growth of feed production volumes necessary to meet the growth of productivity of farm animals, and increase in quantity of raw materials for ever-growing needs of processing industry. In turn, improvement of quality of agricultural lands is impossible without their improvement by development of disturbed, abandoned, etc. lands, as well as increase of fertility of used lands, and also, when it is possible, increase of number of vegetation periods during the year. Land development and intensification activities are very expensive and require huge financial investments, therefore it is necessary to thoroughly justify the projects for their implementation, as well as to study alternatives and select the best (optimal) option for implementing a set of such activities in time and space of a specific land mass, taking into account the needs of cultivated agricultural crops, their crop rotations, various characteristics of the land plots that make up the land mass, as well as natural and climatic and socio-economic expectations, environmental and technical requirements.
