ASSISTÊNCIA DE ENFERMAGEM EM CRIANÇAS AUTISTAS

The present study aims to describe the nursing care provided to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and the role of an interdisciplinary team. A literature review was conducted, with data collected from databases such as SCIELO and BVS, encompassing articles published between January 2019 and June 2021. The results demonstrated that nurses play a crucial role in identifying the early signs of ASD and guiding families, with the use of tools such as the M-CHAT being essential. The research highlighted the need for continuous training of nursing professionals to improve the quality of care and the effectiveness of interventions. Additionally, gaps in public policies were identified that limit emotional support for families, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive and humane approach. It is concluded that collaborative action among the healthcare team is essential for promoting the well-being of children with ASD and their families, and that ongoing training for nurses is crucial for more effective care that is sensitive to the needs of this population.
