PERFIL CLÍNICO E EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DOS PACIENTES COM HIPERTENSÃO ARTERIAL SISTÊMICA NA ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA
This article analyzes the clinical and epidemiological profile of patients with Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) treated at a Basic Health Unit in Garanhuns-PE. Hypertension is one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, with high prevalence in Brazil. Through an integrative literature review, the study aims to identify evidence regarding treatment adherence and the effectiveness of therapeutic strategies in primary care. The results reveal that SAH predominantly affects the elderly, influenced by risk factors such as sedentarism, obesity, and inadequate diets. Adherence to treatment is a challenge, impacted by economic barriers, lack of awareness, and side effects of medications. The article emphasizes the importance of multifaceted interventions that combine pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to optimize hypertension control. It concludes that, despite advancements, gaps remain in management strategies, highlighting the need for public policies that promote the continuous training of health professionals and ensure equitable access to care.
