Weather anomalies and food prices in the 3rd quarter of 2024 in Russia and abroad

The article examines the anomalous manifestations of global weather and climate changes in Russia, Europe and the USA in the 3rd quarter of 2024 and their impact on agricultural production. The weather conditions favorable for harvesting crop production in September in the European part of Russia are noted. Domestic producer prices and retail prices for grain, milk, and potatoes are compared. There is an increase in inflation in Russia in the context of an increase in the Central Bank’s key rate. The high consumer prices for socially important products are analyzed: milk, sugar and potatoes.
