Mental health support teams in schools

Many of our young people are distressed. There are different hypotheses as to why. As psychologists, we need to take a step back and formulate. When we frame this problem as a mental health crisis, this shifts our focus towards the individual and away from context. In order to truly respond to mental distress, we must look at the circumstances of young people’s lives and the education system.
