Epilogue: Why should MHSTs be of interest to clinical psychologists?
Concluding this special edition of Clinical Psychology Forum, the ethical implications for psychologists and colleagues of addressing CYP mental health using the MHST model are considered. Given the number of current systemic challenges facing children, young people and schools, the extent to which MHSTs can be offered in line with a public health approach to mental health may not feel as expansive as is needed. However, the flexibility of the MHST model also affords many opportunities to psychologists working within them as they present a unique way to contribute to preventative mental health work, compared with long-established provider services, such as CAMHS.
