THE ROLE OF UNIVERSITIES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF STARTUP CULTURE AND TECHNOLOGICAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The study is devoted to the analysis of the role of universities in the formation of startup culture and the development of technological entrepreneurship among students. The mechanisms of support for innovative projects in the university environment are considered. The paper uses methods of comparative analysis, systematization of theoretical approaches, as well as an overview of domestic and international experience in creating university startup ecosystems. The analysis of the problems hindering the successful development of startups in universities is carried out. The study shows that universities are developing students’ entrepreneurial competencies by implementing startup support programs such as Startup as a Diploma. The creation of startup accelerators, business incubators and venture funds at universities contributes to the development of innovative entrepreneurship and the integration of students into the economy. The motivation of students, the lack of qualified mentors, limited access to funding and weak commercialization of university developments remain important issues. International experience shows that it is necessary to develop an approach that will contribute to the development of university startup ecosystems, including government support, integration with industrial enterprises, and adaptation of educational programs to modern market requirements.
