MODELING AND PROSPECTS OF BARLEY DEVELOPMENT IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Barley is one of the most ancient economic crops. Currently, spring barley is sown in many countries due to its ability to adapt to different conditions. Barley ranks second among grain exports after wheat. This crop is widely used in various fields: cooking, beverage production, participates in the composition of feed. Despite the high demand and demand not only in the global but also in the domestic markets, many enterprises reduce or remove barley from sowing because it is not profitable for them. The purpose of the work is to analyze the gross harvest and acreage over 2 years. At the beginning of the work, the regions for 2023 were analyzed, then 40 leading regions in terms of gross collection for 2023 and 2021 are considered for data comparison. The results showed a decrease in yields in 2023 and an increase in acreage compared to 2021.
