Conjugated Polymer in Solar Cells: Mini-Review
With semiconducting properties and high absorption coefficients, conjugated polymers are being deemed suitable for utilization in the manufacturing of solar cells, given their capability to be processed into thin films. These polymers can be intelligently designed in a range where light absorption is desired. Not only does this allow for their usage in many different types of solar cells, but it also expands the area of research needed for improving material properties, optimizing device design, and using new construction techniques to achieve higher efficiency, lower cost, and greater durability. Conjugated polymers as acceptable solar cell materials will enable the development of low-cost, efficient, and flexible photovoltaic devices.
