Synthesis and Antibacterial Studies of Metal N-Heterocyclic Carbene
To create both symmetrically and unsymmetrically substituted salts, various benzyl and phenyl acetamides were substituted to create benzimidazolium salts. Both symmetrically and unsymmetrically substituted benzimidazolium salts were reacted with Ag2O using the in-situ deprotonation technique to produce silver(I) complex, which produced high-quality derived structures. Ag(I)-NHC complex make N-heterocyclic carbene complexes like Pd(II)-NHC by performing as transfer reagents throughout the transmetallation process. The antibacterial properties of benzimidazolium salts and their corresponding Ag(I) and Pd(II)-NHC complexes are demonstrated. When comparing the Ag(I) silver complex with the benzamidazole salt and the Pd(II) complex, the silver complex showed clear activity.
