The fungus gnats of Corsica (Diptera, Bolitophilidae, Diadocidiidae, Keroplatidae, Mycetophilidae)

An account is presented of the Corsican fungus gnats of the families Bolitophilidae, Diadocidiidae, Keroplatidae and Mycetophilidae. This is based on material from the Our Planet Reviewed in Corsica 2019-2021 expeditions led by the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in collaboration with, and funded by, the Collectivité de Corse and the Office Français de la Biodiversité, and on previously collected material. The expeditions produced 154 species of these families, with 65 first records for the island, including 13 new to France. With earlier material, including a further 34 species with newly published data, the Corsican list stands at 206 species; new records for mainland France of 10 species are also provided. The fauna is compared with the 119 species known from Sardinia; 70% of the Sardinian fauna, but only 40% of the Corsican fauna are in common. The Corsican total of 206 is also about 40% of the French list, currently estimated at 544 species.
