“Exploring the Green Science of Silver Nanoparticles: The Process of Nano-scale Sculpting”

Abstract A significant focus within nanotechnology revolves around the creation of nanoparticles through biological processes, providing cost and environmental benefits compared to traditional chemical and physical synthesis methods. The present study assessed the capacity of Eucalyptus leaf extract to generate silver nanoparticles by employing a 1 mM silver nitrate aqueous solution. Characterization of the nanoparticles was conducted using UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The verification of the synthesized nanoscale particles was achieved through UV–visible spectrometry at 435 nm. Further confirmation of the particle size range (22 to 42 nm) was supported by SEM analysis. Fourier transform infrared spectra confirmed the substantial presence of phenolic compounds in the plant extract, suggesting their potential role in the reduction process.
