Las trazas del agua: el significado territorial del sistema de canales de riego en Villa Mercedes, Argentina

ABSTRACT This document reveals a set of readings on the irrigation canal system, which manifest its contribution to the development of a productive peri-urban area and its transformations based on the loss of function of said system and the reduction of areas served by irrigation, with the objective of investigating new meanings and roles of said infrastructure and its landscape in the rural and urban territory of Villamercedino. In methodological terms, various scales of approach are used, constructing a graphic document that allows identifying its particular functional, spatial and landscape features, using the drawing as a fundamental instrument for reading and understanding the system in question and its parts. Understanding that the construction of this set of inputs will allow, subsequently, to identify opportunities to articulate the traces of water with the territory it crosses, through a set of urban-landscape preservation and valuation projects. RESUMEN Este documento revela un conjunto de lecturas sobre el sistema de canales de riego, las cuales manifiestan su aporte al desarrollo de un periurbano productivo y sus transformaciones a partir de la perdida de función de dicho sistema y la reducción de áreas servidas de riego, con el objetivo de indagar sobre nuevos significados y roles de dicha infraestructura y su paisaje en el territorio rural y urbano villamercedino. En términos metodológicos se recurre a diversas escalas de aproximación construyendo un documento gráfico que permita identificar sus rasgos funcionales, espaciales y paisajísticos particulares, utilizando el dibujo como instrumento fundamental de lectura y comprensión del sistema en cuestión y de sus partes. Entendiendo, que la construcción de este conjunto de insumos permitirá, posteriormente, identificar las oportunidades de articular las trazas del agua con el territorio que atraviesa, a través de un conjunto de proyectos de preservación y valoración urbano-paisajística.
