Minimally invasive surgery for osteonecrosis of the femoral head. A clinical case
Introduction. The article presents a clinical example of using a minimally invasive method for treating early stages of aseptic necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH). Objective. Using a specific clinical case of osteonecrosis as an example, to familiarize doctors of relevant specialties with the possibilities of the needle- knife technology, which is new to domestic practice. Results and discussion. A 34-year-old patient was diagnosed with bilateral ANFH and recommended total hip arthroplasty. An alternative was treatment with a needle-knife. The treatment was carried out according to the scheme recommended by Chinese specialists from the AOSIDI Clinic (Chengdu, China). A good clinical result was obtained with complete work and social rehabilitation and the absence of pain syndrome. The treatment results are confirmed by MSCT data and functional tests. Conclusion. The presented clinical case and materials on the use of the needle- knife demonstrate that the technology is currently one of the few methods of effective minimally invasive treatment of ANFH, which is relevant during the period of active development of the consequences of COVID-19 with a significantly increased number of patients suffering from osteonecrosis. The simplicity and low cost of the proposed treatment method, the minimum number of contraindications and the outpatient type of the treatment make the needle-knife technology one of the most attractive for doctors of various specialties in the treatment of such a complex pathology as the early stages of ANFH.
