Glycemic control and features of hypoglycemic therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular events

Relevance of the problem. Patients with diabetes mellitus are one of the most threatened categories for the development of an unfavorable outcome in the event of acute coronary syndrome and acute cerebrovascular accident. In patients with dysglycemia, the risk of unfavorable clinical outcomes of acute cardiovascular events is several times higher than in patients with normal or corrected blood glucose levels, and adequate glycemic control improves the prognosis. Objective. To consider and systematize the clinical aspects of hypoglycemic therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus against the background of acute coronary syndrome and acute cerebrovascular accident.
