Know how to comply with new federal anti‐hazing law

Higher education administrators need to begin implementing changes to ensure compliance with new federal legislation addressing hazing. Signed into law by former President Joe Biden on Dec. 23, 2024, the Stop Campus Hazing Act is a bipartisan amendment to the Clery Act. The new law aims to increase transparency and improve responses to hazing incidents, including giving campus community members information to make informed decisions regarding campus organizations. The SCHA requires new annual statistical disclosures in the annual security report, policy disclosures related to hazing, and the creation of a Campus Hazing Transparency Report.
