Bipolar ablation from the right atrium and basal inferoseptal left ventricle to treat ventricular tachycardia arising from the inferoseptal process
Ablation of ventricular tachycardia (VT) in nonischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM) can present difficult substrates, especially when involving the interventricular septum. Bipolar ablation creates larger ablation lesions for deeper substrates when catheters can be appropriately spaced. Bipolar ablation is an innovative solution to drive deeper lesions in challenging substrates. The concept behind bipolar ablation involves using another ablation catheter at proximity as a grounding source, increasing the radiofrequency (RF) current density.
