EXTENSÃO UNIVERSITÁRIA EM SEUS PROCESSOS DE INSTITUCIONALIDADE E CURRICULARIZAÇÃO: REFLEXÕES CRÍTICAS SOBRE DESAFIOS E TENDÊNCIAS

This article is based on professional experience in universities in the management and formulation of academic and scientific policies for extension, participation in the National Forum for Extension and Community Action of Community Higher Education Institutions - ForExt, and experience in research groups linked to undergraduate and stricto sensu graduate programs in Social Work and Psychology. The objectives of the work are to problematize central aspects of the conception, historicity, and institutionality of extension in higher education and to indicate challenges and trends in its curricularization in undergraduate courses, as provided for in CNE/CES Resolution No. 07 of December 18, 2018, which establishes the Guidelines for Extension in Brazilian Higher Education. The arguments cover challenges inherent in the implementation of the so-called curricularization of extension in undergraduate courses, considerations and discussions on trends in the construction of strategies, pedagogical processes, and curricular components that allow for an expanded institutionality, intentionally organized for a comprehensive, emancipatory, critical, integral, and dialogic professional training with the popular strata of Brazilian society.
