STUNTING: PROBLEMS AND PREVENTION EFFORTS BY STAKEHOLDERS
Stunting is a critical public health issue affecting children under five, leading to long-term consequences such as reduced productivity and economic burdens. This study aims to explore the implementation of stunting reduction policies in Majalengka Regency, focusing on the roles of key stakeholders, including the Health Office, Health Center, and Posyandu. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document review from relevant stakeholders. The findings indicate that while there has been a decrease in stunting rates, challenges persist, including insufficient coordination among stakeholders, a lack of nutritionists at health centers, and inadequate public awareness regarding Posyandu activities. The establishment of the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team represents a significant step towards collaboration among various regional organizations. However, further improvements are needed in cross-sector cooperation and public engagement to effectively address stunting. The implications of this research highlight the necessity for enhanced stakeholder collaboration and community awareness initiatives to sustain and improve the effectiveness of stunting reduction efforts in Majalengka Regency.
