HBE sustainability Strategy as an effort to improve welfare in the Semanggi Metal Village, Surakarta City
Abstract The development of Kampung Mojo has become an integral part of the Surakarta City development plan. After the arrangement carried out in Kampung Mojo, various efforts were made to make Mojo more harmonious and even as part of the Surakarta City tourist destination. Since they come from slums, the livelihoods of the residents are dominated by informal work. They do more informal work and prepare it at home, so it is called a home-based enterprise (HBE). In this study, the methods to collect data consisted of observation, documentation, interviews, and questionnaire instruments. By using a SWOT analysis that began with the EFAS and IFAS analysis techniques, this study formulated an HBE sustainability strategy for improving welfare, with nominal data in the binary category, namely yes and no. Not only from a socio-economic perspective, but it also encourages multifunctional space management so that the use of space in the residence is more optimal to support the sustainability of the community’s economy and maintain the comfort of residents as well as HBE actors.
