Flood susceptibility and post flood agricultural economic losses in flood prone area of Wawar watershed, Purworejo Regency

Abstract Wawar watershed is located at Purworejo Regency that has high flood susceptibility. The area around this watershed is dominated by agricultural land which is prone to flood and causing crop damage. This study aims to analyze the area of rice fields affected by the Wawar watershed flood and calculate the estimated economic value of rice farmers’ losses due to the flood. The method used in this study is data processing on GIS (Geographic Information System) and quantitative method. The result shows that there are two cetegories of flood susceptibility in the Wawar watershed, they are medium and high. The estimated total value of the agricultural sector is almost 64,82 ton/hectare. The occurrence of flood resulted in the crop failure and decreased incomes.
