Clinical experiences of the frame from a Chinese psychoanalytic psychotherapy consultation group
Five members from a consultation group and its consultant describe some clinical issues arising in the individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy of Chinese clients by Chinese therapists. They focus on attacks on the external frame such as lateness, absence, texting, touch, and gift-giving and on the internal frame in which they give the example of connecting the transference–countertransference dialectic to the clients' developmental history and sociocultural context.
