MICROBIOTA HOSPITALAR E SUA INFLUÊNCIA NAS INFECÇÕES RELACIONADAS À ASSISTÊNCIA À SAÚDE
Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are a significant challenge for hospital infection control. The presence and diversity of microorganisms on hospital surfaces pose a risk for the spread of pathogens and injuries that increase antimicrobial resistance. This article aims to analyze the microbial diversity on hospital surfaces and its influence on the incidence of HAIs. The methodology used is a narrative literature review, based on articles published in the last ten years. The results indicate that moderate hygiene, constant physical contact and the presence of biofilms on equipment and surfaces favor the persistence of pathogenic microorganisms, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Acinetobacter spp. It is concluded that infection strategies and microbiological monitoring are essential for the reduction of HAIs.
