Evaluation Method for Novel Distribution Grids Based on Improved TOPSIS with a Combined Weighting Approach of Subjective and Objective

Aiming at the difficulty of making a thorough evaluation of the economic operation level of novel distribution grids, a comprehensive evaluation method based on the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS) using a combined weighting approach of subjective and objective is proposed. Firstly, a system of indicators with five dimensions covering grid planning, operation, equipment, management, and flexible resources is constructed according to the current construction status and future development trend of novel distribution grids. Subsequently, a modified subjective-objective combined weighting method is proposed considering the participation of multiple experts in the evaluation. Considering the correlation between the indicators, an improved TOPSIS method based on Mahalanobis distance is proposed to rank the economic operation level of each distribution grid. Finally, the indicators are evaluated on six district-level distribution grids in a city in China, and the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
