Designing a Textile-Based One-Flag Piezoelectric and Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Harvesting Wind Energy

According to the increasing demand for energy, the importance of sustainable and clean energy is undeniable. Wind energy, as a renewable power source for a variety of applications, has been of interest for many decades. In this research, a fully textile, flexible, and lightweight wind energy harvester is presented. Abstract

According to the increasing demand for energy, the importance of sustainable and clean energy is undeniable. Wind energy, as a renewable power source for a variety of applications, has been of interest for many decades. In this research, a fully textile, flexible, and lightweight wind energy harvester is presented. A one-flag nanogenerator including PVDF-BaTiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf> (Polyvinylidene fluoride-barium titanate) and nylon nanofibers sandwiched between two conductive fabrics is used. Nylon and PVDF nanofibers respectively act as the electronegative and electropositive components in the triboelectric generating method. PVDF also plays a role as a piezoelectric material. The addition of BaTiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3</inf> nanoparticles into PVDF enhances its piezoelectric properties and P-TENG electrical output.
