Textile-Based Actuators for Generating Variable Haptic Effects for the Transmission of Signals and Environmental Impressions via Clothing
The aim of the project is to develop a polymer-based, soft, and skin-friendly textile actuator matrix that makes it possible to transmit haptic signals and environmental impressions in body-close textiles. This should enable information to be fed into the brain via unusual sensory channels - sensory substitution - (an aid for blind or deaf people) or to expand the sensory experience (additional channels for safety signals and information).
