Research on the Utility of Smart Micro-grids for Small Residential Areas
The global energy utilization landscape is undergoing a massive transformation. Traditional thermal power generation is being severely tested due to issues of energy depletion and environmental pollution. At the same time, large-scale power grids are facing challenges such as the risk of widespread blackouts and high operational and maintenance difficulties. To address these issues, the concept of micro-grids has emerged. It integrates distributed power sources, energy storage, and coordinated control technologies to form a new system that can exchange energy with the main grid and also independently power the system. This paper selects a park as the research subject and designs an intelligent micro-grid system. This includes calculating the park’s electricity load, selecting and designing the type and capacity of photovoltaic power sources, as well as choosing and designing the type and capacity of energy storage devices.
