Вплив доброго врядування на добробут під час війни: чи дійсно має значення?
The paper explores the relationship between good governance, economic growth and military conflicts in the world. For this purpose, cluster analysis was used based on the application of Kohonen maps, which allows grouping homogeneous objects according to their similarity. To study good governance in the world the World Governance Indicators are used that characterize the perception of the quality of governance in more than 200 countries of the world during 1996-2023, distinguishing six sections of governance: voice and accountability, political stability and absence of violence/terrorism, government effectiveness, regulatory quality, rule of law, control of corruption. At the same time, the level of countries development was determined based on the classification of world economies according to their income level (low, lower middle, upper middle, high) based on the values of gross national income per capita (in US dollars) as the main indicator of economic capacity using the Atlas method. The clustering results demonstrated the existence of a connection between the degree of governance effectiveness (“good governance”) and the level of development of the country due to its impact on sustainable economic growth. Meanwhile, the impact of military conflicts on indicators of good governance is not obvious and requires additional research. In general, it is necessary to emphasize the role of good governance in ensuring political and economic stability, protecting property rights, reducing corruption, which are key factors in attracting investments, developing business and, as a result, creating a favorable business environment. In addition, effective management of public resources allows for better use of budget funds, infrastructure and natural resources, which leads to increased productivity and reduced costs for business. On the other hand, good governance contributes to the development of the social security system, in particular education, healthcare, social protection, which forms the fundamental foundations for the development of human capital.
