The Impact of the Application of the Six Sigma Methodology in Companies

Objective: With the objective of making their participation visible within the processes and the effects it has on their value as a company and on their positioning within the industry. Theoretical Framework: Basic concepts within the industry and methodologies such as Six Sigma and DMAIC are presented; that are addressed to understand and support what was stated in the Research presented. Method: The research approach used was a systematic literary review, where various case study articles were collected in local, national and international companies that opted for the implementation of the SS methodology as part of one of their organizational strategies; its development consisted of 3 phases, 1) determination of inclusion and exclusion criteria for information; 2) obtaining data and analysis procedure; 3) selection of articles. Results and Discussion: And as some of the main results were obtained that the SS methodology is increasingly used and attractive to implement in companies, due to the benefits it provides to this, however, its implementation also includes certain requirements and challenges to consider if its implementation is considered. Research Implications: This research emphasizes the adaptation of the SS methodology in the organizational culture in all areas and philosophies of the company, to exploit its potential to the maximum. Originality/Value: This research represents a new perspective and use of the SS methodology, highlighting the importance of its requirements for its successful implementation, and its use as a reference example for the correct implementation in other companies in the industry.
