A new resource for Icelandic sagas. Digitizing normalized editions and enhancing textual data
This article accounts for a new project which aims to digitize and make available normalized scholarly editions of Old Icelandic texts. The project is based on a print publication of Icelandic family sagas. The texts are digitized and subsequently processed as a tagged and lemmatized language corpus. The material is further enhanced by linking it to a leading dictionary (ONP). Another enhancement involves an inflectional database, that is built from the tags and lemmata in the corpus, providing detailed information about morphological forms and inflectional patterns of each attested word.
