UJI KESUAIAN PEMERIKSAAN BTA METODE ZIEHL NEELSEN DENGAN GENEXPERT PADA PASIEN TUBERKULOSIS PARU
Tuberculosis is a persistent bacterial infection caused by MycobacteriumTuberculosis. While it primarily affects the lungs, leading to pulmonary TB, the bacteria can also invade other organs, resulting in extrapulmonary TB. Early detection of TB cases is crucial for effective disease management. Combining traditional microscopic methods like Ziehl-Neelsen (ZN) staining with modern molecular technologies such as the GeneXpert molecular rapid test offers significant advantages in TB diagnosis. This approach enhances accuracy and expedites results, facilitating more effective identification and treatment of both pulmonary and extrapulmonary TB infections. This study seeks to assess the agreement between microscopic examination outcomes and GeneXpert (TCM) results in pulmonary TB patients. The research methodology is analytical, employing a cross-sectional approach to simultaneously collect and directly examine both independent and dependent variables. The study sample comprises 83 participants who underwent both GeneXpert and microscopic examinations. GeneXpert utilizes Real Time RT PCR, while microscopy employs Ziehl-Neelsen staining with specific dye. Diagnostic test evaluation utilizes a 2x2 table, with sensitivity recorded at 82.35%, specificity at 100%, and a Kappa test yielding a 0.94 agreement level between the methods. This research demonstrates a significant correlation between GeneXpert and ZN in diagnosing TB patients.
