On the geodesics and shadows of Schwarzschild black holes with topological corrections

In this paper, we study the geodesics and shadows of topologically corrected Schwarzschild black holes through a perturbative method which we developed to derive the approximate analytical expressions for physical quantities such as the photon sphere and stable orbits. We find that the topological corrections could shrink the size of the photon sphere but enlarge the size of the event horizon. By exploring various accretion models, we investigate the effects of different parameters on the black hole shadow and intensity. We also discuss the potential for distinguishing corrected or uncorrected black holes based on their photon spheres and shadows.

Abstract

In this paper, we study the geodesics and shadows of topologically corrected Schwarzschild black holes through a perturbative method which we developed to derive the approximate analytical expressions for physical quantities such as the photon sphere and stable orbits. We find that the topological corrections could shrink the size of the photon sphere but enlarge the size of the event horizon. By exploring various accretion models, we investigate the effects of different parameters on the black hole shadow and intensity. We also discuss the potential for distinguishing corrected or uncorrected black holes based on their photon spheres and shadows.
