Coordination sensitivity based evaluation of pathways to enhance new power system services

Developing a new power system is essential for driving high-quality development and achieving "dual carbon" goals. It also plays a pivotal role in aligning with the new development paradigm. To effectively support and integrate into this framework, the new power system must prioritize security, foster clean and low-carbon growth, improve operational efficiency, and promote sustainable progress. This study begins by constructing indicator systems for both the new power system and the new development paradigm to evaluate and compare their performance. Next, it refines the coupling coordination model to quantitatively assess the sensitivity of coordination between these two systems. The evaluation results are then used to iden tify key components that can enhance the new power system’s services in supporting the construction of the new development paradigm. The key strategies identified involve rapidly increasing renewable energy adoption, advancing energy storage solutions, and developing smart grid technologies—all essential to achieving carbon neutrality and bolstering energy security. The study further underscores the importance of an integrated framework to support and accelerate these advancements.
