Traveling wave fault ranging of multi-branch distribution network based on overhead line

This paper proposes a traveling wave fault location method for multi branch distribution networks based on overhead lines to address the problems of large differences in network structure, multiple branch lines, insufficient basic data, and low accuracy. According to the principle of minimizing the configuration of the traveling wave acquisition module, an overall traveling wave fault location scheme is designed for scenarios such as long overhead lines in mountainous areas and long overhead lines in counties (rural areas). The PSCAD simulation verification shows that the fault location method proposed in this paper has high accuracy and good engineering application prospects.

Abstract

This paper proposes a traveling wave fault location method for multi branch distribution networks based on overhead lines to address the problems of large differences in network structure, multiple branch lines, insufficient basic data, and low accuracy. According to the principle of minimizing the configuration of the traveling wave acquisition module, an overall traveling wave fault location scheme is designed for scenarios such as long overhead lines in mountainous areas and long overhead lines in counties (rural areas). The PSCAD simulation verification shows that the fault location method proposed in this paper has high accuracy and good engineering application prospects.
