Optimal scheduling of virtual power plants considering interruptible load levels
Most of the distributed power sources are renewable energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaic. The randomness and uncontrollability of their output bring certain challenges to the safe and stable operation of the power system. Studying the optimal scheduling decision of virtual power plants participating in demand side response under distributed energy access is an effective way to deal with the challenges of energy structure transformation and smart grid technology development. In this paper, the interruptible load is regarded as an important research object, and its possible role in the optimal scheduling of virtual power plant participating in demand side response is deeply analyzed. By linking the interruption compensation price with the load interruption level, the higher the interruption level, the higher the compensation price. The rationality and economy of the proposed optimization model are verified by an example. The results show that the participation of virtual power plant in demand side response can reduce the total operating cost of virtual power plant. The total operating cost of varying levels of interruptible load participating in demand side response is lower than that of a constant level of interruptible load.
