Multi-field simulation modeling and dynamic characterization analysis of hydrogen proton exchange membrane fuel cell

The dynamic performance of the internal physical processes of a hydrogen-to-electricity conversion device plays a decisive role in its dynamic output performance and operational stability. This paper takes PEMFC, a typical hydrogen-to-electricity converter, as the research object, and studies the dynamic characteristics of the internal physical processes of PEMFC when facing sudden changes in operating conditions. The dynamic characteristics of hydrogen-electric conversion performance and internal physical fields of PEMFC are analysed in the face of the inlet temperature step and mass flow rate step. The results show that the output current density of PEMFC decreases by 5.69% in the face of the temperature step there is an obvious delay effect, and the maximum decrease of runner temperature is 8.5%, which increases the internal temperature gradien t of the device, leading to an increase in thermal stress and easy to cause the device to disintegrate. The flow step causes the o utput current density to drop by up to 6.2%, and there is also a delayed effect, and the water concentration inside the battery increases by up to 38.5%, which is easy to causes "flooding" and significantly affects the stable operation and service life of the equipment. This study is of great significance in ensuring the efficient and stable operation of PEMFC and formulating scientific and effective control strategies.
