Reliability assessment of generation and transmission systems considering compressed air energy storage

Compressed air energy storage (CAES), as a clean energy storage technology, can solve the problem of high proportion of renewable energy consumption in new power systems. In the field of reliability evaluation of power generation and transmission system, it is also necessary to carry out reliability modelling research of CAES. Firstly, a general reliability model for CAES is established by Markov method, which is equivalent to a four-state combination subsystem and a three-state air storage subsystem. Secondly, the system indicator which can reflect the energy loss of the storage side is proposed, and the whole process of reliability evaluation of the power generation and transmission system including CAES is given. Finally, the validity of the proposed model is verified in the modified IEEE RTS-79 system.

Finally, the validity of the proposed model is verified in the modified IEEE RTS-79 system.
