Research on the optimization of regional integrated energy system operation considering load side flexibility resources

To maximize the potential of load-side flexibility resources within the energy system and achieve economically efficient and environmentally friendly operation of regional integrated energy systems, an optimized dispatch model incorporating stepped carbon trading and flexible loads is proposed. First, a comprehensive mathematical model for the regional integrated energy system and its internal components is developed. Flexible loads are then categorized into four types: transferable, curtailable, leveling and substitutable. Finally, a stepped carbon trading mechanism is integrated to enhance the system’s low-carbon and cost-effective operation. The proposed model effectively leverages load-side flexibility to smooth load curves, reduce system operating costs, and optimize the operation of the regional integrated energy system, as demonstrated through case analysis.
