Research on the participation of industrial loads in the frequency emergency control of the HVDC receiving end grid

This paper takes electrolytic aluminium plant as the research object, and proposes a strategy of industrial loads participating in the frequency emergency control of the HVDC receiving end grid. Firstly, the power dynamic external characteristic model and the production and internal characteristic model of the electrolytic aluminium load are established; then, considering the frequency safety constraints and load regulation costs, a multi-industrial load collaborative frequency emergency control model is established; finally, the proposed control strategy is verified by simulation. The results show that the participation of industrial loads in frequency emergency control improves the frequency characteristic of the system, and plays a positive role in maintaining the frequency stability of the system in the case of HVDC blocking.
