Study of corona electrical field effect for ultra-high voltage direct current transmission lines under fog-haze weather
Ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission could achieve electrical interconnection in a wider range, and it is very important to analyze the transmission characteristics of UHVDC transmission line. A calculation method is proposed to analysis the corona electric field of UHVDC transmission lines under fog-haze weather based on finite element method (FEM). The mechanism and sensitivity analysis is conducted for the different kinds of UHVDC conductor arrangement on ground-level electric fields and ion-flow densities. Case study is conducted on a double-circuit ±800kV transmission line on the same tower to illustrate the effectness of fog-haze weather on corona electrical field characteristics. The calculation result is of great guiding significance for parameter design of UHVDC transmission lines.
