Constant admittance modeling method for PMSG utilizing virtual impedance compensation

Due to its complex structure and numerous nodes, the permanent magnet direct-drive wind power generation system faces challenges in electromagnetic transient simulation, including the complexity of calculating time-varying admittance matrices and limited simulation scale. To address these issues, this paper proposes a constant admittance modeling method for permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSG) using virtual impedance compensation. This method builds upon traditional generator models by adding virtual impedance on the rotor side to fix the admittance matrix and optimizes the impedance parameters based on the principle of minimizing transient errors. Furthermore, by integrating the associated discrete circuit (ADC) model of the converter, a complete constant admittance model for PMSG is constructed, which effectively simplifies the electromagnetic transient simulation process and significantly reduces computational resource consumption. Experimental validation demonstrates that this model not only possesses high accuracy but is also suitable for discrete hardware simulation platforms such as FPGA, exhibiting good versatility and practicality.
