An entropy increase hub model based on standardized matrix method
Energy station (ES) is the coupling links of integrated energy system (IES) and plays an important role in maintaining energy efficiency and quality. IES entropy state theory provides a novel method to quantify energy quality on the perspective of energy usability loss caused by losses and uncertainty. Traditional energy hub model and exergy hub model target the energy and exergy flowing through ES but neglect the energy quality degeneration due to the uncertainty of renewable energy generation. An entropy increase hub model based on the standardized matrix method and entropy state theory is proposed and used to obtain entropy increase flow distribution of ES. The proposed method is applied on the test ES and multi-objective operation optimization is carried out, considering exergy efficiency, entropy increase and economy. The result shows that proper ES energy management can lead to a high-quality energy delivery with low cost, comparing to a typical non-optimized operation scheme. It is revealed that energy quality from different perspectives should be considered for collaborative optimization of planning and operating, and for efficient and high-quality use of energy in IES.
