Satirical portrait of soviet reality in the works of Mykola Tyshchuk
Literary and artistic process of the second half of the 20th century. in Ukraine was ambiguous and extremely colorful. Some of its aspects are still poorly covered or completely unnoticed. The satire and humor of that time have not yet received due attention of scientists. The figures of individual satirists and humorists of the "second rank" are still "in the shadows". Changes in the social atmosphere of the 1960s and 1980s gave reason to hope for the liberation of Ukrainian satire and humor from the corridor of restrictions. The author of the article reveals the problematic and thematic features of the epic heritage of the Ukrainian writer of the second half of the 20th century. Mykola Tyshchuk. The main attention is focused on the content aspects of the works, the originality of the allegorism used in them. It has been noticed that his works are characterized by meaningful allegorism, a subtle ability to conduct a hidden conversation with the reader about painful, life-threatening problems of the time. M. Tyschuk tried to tell the people the word of truth, cherished hopes for Ukrainian revival, a national movement towards freedom and justice. In his best works, although in a hidden form, important aspects of the existence of society and the individual in that era, manifestations of the harmful influence on them by the totalitarian regime, and deep aspirations of Ukrainians for social and national liberation found original artistic coverage. Adhering to the traditions of the classical fable, the writer filled his works with new content, resorting to the depiction of collisions, conflicts, and deformations in the inner world of man at that time. M. Tyschuk's fables deal with manifestations of mass cruelty born of social conditions, Sovkiv careerism, cronyism, "snapping". Among the images created by the poet, a special place is occupied by images based on phenomena produced by scientific and technological progress. Among the mass of characters stand out "heroes" essentially related to the latter: Reproducer, Crane, Dump truck, Electric tile, Synthetic bag, etc. Biker gives figurative functionality to the modern technical realities of such a headquarters: a microphone, a motorcycle, a centrifuge, an electric shepherd, a robot, etc. Many of them have an allusive character, they point to the hidden meaning that is revealed in the reflections on the destruction of the foundations of society and the individual under the conditions of totalitarianism.
